The sound of his voice was what she fell asleep to every night. It was the only thing that brought her comfort. He had been gone for what seemed like ages. The only thing that kept her going was the phone calls and the video messages she often received from him, reminding her of his love for her. But lately the phone calls and the surprise messages had started to become fewer and father between and it was slowly starting to take a strain on her already damaged heart. She loved him more than life itself and being a part from him was killing her. She would lie in bed and night and strain to remember the sound of his voice despite the fact that she had saved every video he had ever sent her. Her memories of him were slowly starting to fade. She would lay her head on her pillow and cry while watching the movies over and over again. It was just becoming too much for her not to be able to have him in her arms. It had been days since she had heard from him and it was killing her not knowing where he was or what he was doing. He meant so much to her but she felt like she couldn’t wait any longer. She took out his box of notes. She kept every single one he had ever written her, even if they were just post-it notes. She loved him so much. She read over the words that he wrote and the promises that he made and cried as she ran her fingers over her ring. It was the last thing the two of them had done before he was forced to leave her side. She took their certificate out of the safe where she kept it and remembered the tears in his eyes as the stood face to face at the alter. The only other thing he had left with her was a weapon to protect her with if the need ever arose. She had kept it hiding under her bed so that it would be close if she ever needed it. She brought it out and laid it on her pillow. She took out a piece of note book paper and wrote a quick note. She lay back onto her pillows and watched over his videos one last time. She tried to call him but there was no answer, just a recording: “if this is my Cara, I love you.” She laid the phone day and cried as hard as she could. She took the pistol he had let with her and set it to her head. She just couldn’t stand the emptiness anymore. It was the last time she would ever be alone. She whispered into the night air’ “I love you too” and slowly pulled the trigger.
Her lifeless body was found a few hrs later still clutching the note she had written that night. It simple read
“I can’t miss you any more. I will always love you”
